Innovative Technologies

SEITec is actively engaged in the development of innovative engineered technologies for a sustainable planet and has developed a number of patented and patent-pending technologies as follows:

WaterSilo: Vertical Underground Stormwater Storage & Infiltration

WaterSilo is a vertical underground facility for stormwater storage and infiltration. WaterSilo Cisterns are one or more closely spaced interconnected vertical Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) tanks, and are used for stormwater retention/use. WaterSilo Dry Wells are vertical cisterns equipped with infiltration dry wells, and are used for stormwater detention/infiltration.

WaterSilos are vertical with a very small footprint and can be rapidly installed in public right of way with minimum disruption. WaterSilos are of particularly high value in congested urban settings where land availability and acquisition present significant challenges for stormwater projects.

StormTunnel: Stormwater Capture Technology

StormTunnel combines the storage capacity of bored tunnels with infiltration capability of drywells to deliver an entirely new Detention-Infiltration-Retention BMP with no land constraints.  It capitalizes on recent advances and innovations in tunneling, which have made it a viable alternative for urban infrastructure.

StormTunnel is bored under public streets and parks, below existing utilities,  where land availability is no issue. The tunneling eliminates the public impact of surface construction and minimizes the earthwork.  StormTunnel does not need diversion pumping since it is below the storm drain and can eliminate the need for pretreatment by providing internal retention space for sediment deposition before water reaches the infiltration drywell inlets, which are equipped with filter fabric that protect the drywells from any remaining suspended solids.

TwoLevelChannel: In-Channel Detention/Infiltration

Current technology diverts the stormwater runoff to an off-channel detention storage facility for infiltration into the ground and/or treatment for beneficial use. This often requires extensive civil works for the diversion, conveyance, and detention storage facilities and is contingent upon the availability of sufficient land for these facilities. The undertaking is often extensive and cost-prohibitive.

TwoLevelChannel uses the vertical space below the channel bed and creates basins along and directly beneath the channel bed for stormwater runoff detention and infiltration, while providing a means of safe hydraulic communication between the storm channel and the detention/infiltration basins below.

TwoLevelChannel essentially creates a two-level stormwater channel with the upper level for conveyance and the lower level for detention and infiltration.
